MNCCI sets induction of 2018 officers, directors

NAGA CITY --- Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals Ma. Luisa Cruz Quijano-Padilla will induct the new officers and directors of the Metro Naga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, one of the few most awarded local chambers in the country, conducts its general membership meeting and oath-taking and induction of the chamber’s officers and new members. Dr. Nicomedes P. Eleazar, executive director of the Bureau of Agricultural Research of the Department of Agriculture, will be the guest of honor and speaker. Newly-elected President Ferdinand ‘Dondon’ Sia will lead the inductees, along with fourteen other members of the board of the chamber and its officers. The chamber’s general membership meeting for the first quarter of this year, highlighted by the oath-taking and induction ceremonies, will be held on Saturday, January 27, at the Avenue Convention Plaza along Magsaysay Avenue here. Regional Governor for Bicol Clarine Tobias-Palomares of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, on the other hand, will charge the new officers with their specific tasks and responsibilities before the induction. Naga City Mayor John G. Bongat, a major supporter of chamber activities and advocacies, has been invited to give an inspirational message. All the chamber members, past presidents, city officials, officers of various municipal business councils, members of the media, and associate members have been invited to attend the meeting and induction. To be inducted, along with President-elect Sia, are: Executive Vice President Eleanor Zuniga-Montemayor; VP for Chamber Management Jun Kalaw; VP for Finance Agapito Rubio; VP for Special Projects Joseph Cruz; Board Secretary and PIO Atty. Norman Barrosa; Treasurer Kristine Gaya; Auditor Billy Genterola; and Directors Gilbert Albero (Past President), Marilissa Ampuan, Flordeliza Azana, Carlo Buenaflor, Jorge Palma, Gloria Alicia Veloso, and Mario Wong. Justice Ma. Luisa Cruz Quijano-Padilla, a native of San Ildefonso, Bulacan, finished her high school as salutatorian at Far Eastern University where he also took up AB English, Magna Cum Laude, in 1970. On the same year, she took up Law at the Ateneo de Manila University where she was a dean’s lister until she graduated in 1974. As a new lawyer, she was first engaged as Legal Officer III of the Bureau of Employment Services, Department of Labor and Employment, from 1975 up to 1979. She was then hired as Chief of the Legal Division of the Philippine Fisheries Development Authority for a short stint until her appointment as Metropolitan Trial Court Judge with then Municipality of Mandaluyong. After serving for 16 years as presiding judge of the said court, she was promoted to the Regional Trial Court of Quezon City as Presiding Judge in August 1999. In August 2011, Justice Padilla was appointed Executive Judge of the Regional Trial Court of Quezon City. On May 17, 2012, she was appointed as Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals by Pres. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino.
