Guard, padyak driver commended for honesty

By Armie Gunay NAGA CITY --- Another two Nagueños were honored for their honesty during the flag ceremony at the city hall here last Monday, February 12. Danilo Ross, a security guard at Our Lady of Peñafrancia Shrine in San Felipe, Naga City, found a Vivo cellular phone left inside the church premises. Ross was able to trace the mobile phone’s owner when the latter’s child called her number. Ross took this opportunity to tell the child to instruct his mother, Ms. Lilia Marcelo, to go back to the church and get his missing phone back. In another incident, Roy Consulta, a pedicab driver, while plying his route, found a pouch bag alongside a parked car. With no sign of possible owner around, Roy took home the bag which contained cash and several cards and looked for any contact detail to trace the bag’s owner. Finding none, he turned over the bag to the Public Safety Office (PSO) for proper disposition. The bag was subsequently claimed by its owner, Evelyn Sayson, of the Bicol Medical Center. Both finders received their certificates of commendation after the flag ceremony from Vice Mayor Nelson Legacion, in behalf of the Mayor John Bongat, and City Councilors Greg Abonal and Elmer Baldomero.
