New USI alumni board takes oath of office
THE Isabelina is a brand, according to Atty. Malu Raneses Raval, the newly elected President for the Universidad de Santa Isabel Alumni Association for 2018-2020. If we were to look closer into this notable, sometimes feisty but always exciting group of women who are movers of Bikol society, it might indeed be so. The Isabelina is a brand and they would like it to define their next 150 years! The new set of officers for the USIAA also happens to be in charge of the celebrations for their Alma Mater’s Sesquicentennial Foundation Anniversary. The Universidad De Santa Isabel will now be in existence for one and a half centuries by April 2018. It has debuted as the first normal school (school for teachers) in the Far East and intends to continue its legacy in the years to come. It is safe to assume that almost all Bikolanos are connected in some way to an Isabelina. A formal turn-over ceremony and oath taking was held last March 3, 2018 at the Avenue Convention Plaza enthusiastically supported by invited alumni and ex-presidentas. Sr. Lourdes Albis, DC, University President, together with her community of sisters also gave a show of support to the new set of officers and board of trustees namely; Atty. Maria Luz Raneses Raval, President, Dr. Mary Jane Guazon Uy, Internal Vice-President, Atty. Noreen San Luis Lutey, External Vice-President, Atty. Francia Apognol, Secretary, Juliet R. Gonzaga, Treasurer, Atty. Ester Tuy-Azurin, Auditor, and Resureccion Asenjo-Bulaong, PIO. The following are members of the Board of Trustees: Monina Sibulo, Arch. Erlinda Imperial, Dr. Sandy Lasa, Gemma Goingo, Susan Clasio, Leonor Aureus, Melinda Perez-Reyes, and Estefrania Pilapil-Cabato.
