Scholarships, housing units for Naga city hall employees

Gunay NAGA CITY --- City Hall employees who lack educational and eligibility requirements to qualify for permanent positions may now have chance to make up for what could be a lost opportunity. Under a scholarship program offered by City Mayor John G. Bongat, around 40 casual and non-permanent employees at city hall is offering these employees have already enrolled at the city-operated City College of Naga that offers courses on Midwifery and Office Administration that may fit their current jobs at city hall. They will be attending their classes after 5:00p.m., after office hours and during weekends. The college will also open review classes for employees wanting to prepare for Civil Service Examination. Meanwhile, the city mayor earlier led the awarding ceremony for the Phase 1 distribution of lots and housing units at the city government –owned housing subdivision in Bgy. Del Rosario, here. The subdivision, named “Johnville” has to date accommodated 40 houseghold-employees. Phase II will be composed of 141 housing units. The housing project is being implemented through HMDF-Pag-Ibig Fund and two developers— the Bicol Habitat for Humanity Foundation Inc. and the LYRR Realty Development Corporation. The units were offered to employees who don’t have homes yet at P4,000 monthly payment deductible from their salary for 30 years.
