Kaogma 2018 opens with record Zumba blast

PILI, Camarines Sur --- The Camarines Sur provincial government under the millennial leadership of Governor Migz Villafuerte opens this year’s Kaogma Festival with a barrage of #Unligaya events schedule that will run from May 19-27, 2018 that will once again overload the senses of the constituents of the province as well as its annual visitors who will come to wallow in its distinct brand of endless fun and excitement during fiesta time! With a promise of “extra fun, unlimited happiness, overflowing joy,” the festivities will officially commence on Saturday, May 19, 2018 with an Opening Salvo with special guests celebrities Mr. Andrew E and Ms. Yassi Pressman of TV’s Ang Probinsyano fame leading the celebration at 7PM at the Kaogma grounds, Capitol Complex, Cadlan, Pili. But earlier in the afternoon at approximately 4PM, a Grand Zumba Kontra Droga will kick off the festivities at the same venue with celebrity guest Ms. Sunshine Cruz and featuring Zayaw Pilipinas with over 20,000 participants from all over Camarines Sur joining in the blast of movement as the activity aims to clinch a Guinness Record for the said event. On May 20, a Cultural Street Dance competition will happen at the Freedom Sports Complex, San Jose, Pili with participation from the different towns/municipalities comprising the 5 districts of the province as well as the start of Boy Kayod at the CWC, the grassroots version ala-Iron Man or endurance race for the working class. By May 21, there will be a Public WiFi Launch at the CWC and a Senior Citizens Talent Show with special guest performer Ms. Claire de la Fuente to be held at the CWC Convention Center, Capitol Complex, Cadlan, Pili. To continue the unlimited fun, scheduled for May 22 is an All Breed Championship Dog Show at the CWC Convention Center and the annual Dance Revolution finals competition to be held at the Freedom Sports Complex with Joshua Zamora and the Manoeuvres Ignite as special guest performers. On May 23, there is a continuation of the dog show as well as the launch of the CamSur 3 on 3 Basketball with special guest Mr. James Yap of the PBA to happen at the CWC Convention Center. By the following day, May 24, is declared as Farmers Day in homage to the hardworking farmers of Camarines Sur where they will hold a series of activities at the CWC Convention Center. In the evening at the Freedom Sports Complex, The Big V, an annual singing competition ala-The Voice that will hold its finals with Ms. Moira de la Torre as special guest. On May 25, the Tri-Factor Asian Championship Series will kick off its triathlon competition at the CWC as well as the Weekend Warriors with famous club DJs holding the fort to non-stop music and dancing. At the Freedom Sports Complex in the same evening is the conduct of Miss Kaogma 2018 which will be hosted by Bb. Pilipinas Universe Ms. Rachel Peters and MYX VJ Robi Domingo with special guest the debonair leading man Mr. Ian Veneracion. The continuation of Tri-Factor Asian Championship Series will happen on May 26 at the same venue, CWC, while the CamSur Rock-Oke Fest with well-known bands like 6cyclemind, Siakol, Orient Pearl, Dong Abay Music Organization, Urbandub, Ben&Ben, Autotelic, IV of Spades, and December Avenue to be held at the Freedom Sports Complex. Also, the Weekend Warriors will continue to serve club music with guest DJs such as Jessica Milner, Memphiis fka Jensen Gomez, Hernandez Brothers, Earl of Manila, Euric-Abdel Asis and Some Guy at the CWC. On May 27, the foundation day itself, the 439th Foundation Mass will be celebrated at the CWC Convention Center to commemorate over four centuries of settlement of the old province by the Bicol River during the Spanish colonization in 1579. It also marks the concluding day of Tri-Factor at the CWC and the conduct of the #KJP Summer Hope Festival ’18 at the Freedom Sports Complex. Gov. Migz and the provincial government of Camarines Sur with its partners ensure the continuous flow of fun and festivities in the 8-day marathon celebrations.
