Drug suspect falls; P300K worth of ‘shabu’ recovered

Arguelles LEGAZPI CITY --- Another leader of an alleged illegal drug group in the city was nabbed and 50 grams of Shabu (crystal meth) worth P300,000 were seized by anti-narcotics operatives during a raid last Wednesday (May 23) in Barangay Victory Village here, an official of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said. Arrested was Larry Loveriza of Purok 2, Barangay Victory Village, a suspected leader of the Loveriza drug group operating in this city, Christian Frivaldo, PDEA regional director said. Barangay Victory Village is a coastal village in the city’s port area considered by authorities as a “hot spot” area for illegal drugs. Frivaldo said combined members of PDEA, City Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Intelligence Service of the Armed Forces of the Philippine (ISAFP) armed with a search warrant at around 12:06 AM of Wednesday swooped down into the suspect’s house and seized 50 grams of suspected shabu. During the raid, however, the suspect’s wife Nena whose name was included in the search warrant was able to elude arrest. The suspect is now under the confined at the PDEA detention facility while appropriate charges are being prepared against him.
