Napolcom names 2018 Model PNP family
By Sally Atento-Altea LEGAZPI CITY --- The National Police Commission (Napolcom) Regional Office 5 has selected the family of SPO4 Jane Cañares-Alteza as the regional winner for the 2018 Search for Model PNP Families. NAPOLCOM Bicol Director Josephmar B. Gil said the family of Alteza garnered the highest score in terms of outstanding contributions to their communities, particularly in involvement and promotion of socio-civic, spiritual, moral and community welfare, and social development activities. “The nomination of the model families was based on community services and involvement in their place of residence and area of assignment,” Gil said. Alteza is the chief of the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) of Iriga City Police Station in Camarines Sur. Among the nominees and finalists for the 2018 model PNP families are SPO1 Irenn Trajano-Seletaria of Polangui Municipal Police Station of Albay and SPO1 Joseph T. Teope of Human Rights Advocates Office of Catanduanes. Gil said the awarding of the top three regional finalists and their families will be held during the 2018 National Crime Prevention Week in August. “The finalists will receive a plaque of recognition and cash awards,” Gil said. Gil said the search is a special incentive program of Napolcom for the police to recognize contributions of their families to embody the concept of Community and Service-Oriented Policing (CSOP) system in their communities. The search also aims to recognize display of renewed leadership and effective community participation in addressing crimes, violence and public safety problems,” Gil added.
