2 rob gang members killed

Arguelles LEGAZPI CITY --- Two suspected members of a robbery and hold up gang were killed in a shoot-out with police operatives at past midnight on Friday (June 22) in Barangay Bagacay in Tinambac town in Camarines Sur, an official of the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported. Killed were Enrique Sta. Ana and Jonald Llames, alleged members of the Sta. Ana robbery hold-up group, a criminal gang operating in Camarines Sur, Police Senior Inspector Maria Luisa Calubaquib, PNP Bicol spokesperson, said. Police operatives armed with a search warrant were approaching the safe house of the suspects at around 2:15a.m. in the said village when suddenly they were fired at by the suspects forcing the police team to retaliate. Calubaquib said the brief firefight resulted in the death of two gang members. Police operatives are tracking down other members of the criminal group facing charges of illegal drug trade and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
