DOLE sets Naga hearing on minimum wage issues
NAGA CITY --- The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) of the Depadtment of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is inviting the general public and stakeholders to attend the public consultation on minimum wage issues in Bicol on Friday, June 29, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Avenue Convention Center here in the city. The public consultation is in consonance with Republic Act No. 6727. RA 6727 is otherwise known as An Act to Rationalize Wage Policy Determination by Establishing the Mechanism and Proper Standards, Amending for the Purpose Article 99 of, and Incorporating Articles 120, 121, 123, 124, 126 and 127 into Presidential Decree No. 442, as Amended, Otherwise Known as the Labor Code of the Philippines, Fixing New Wage Rates and Providing Wage Incentives for Industrial Dispersal to the Countryside. Rovelinda A. de la Rosa, DOLE 5 OIC Regional Director and Chairperson of the RTWPB Bicol said the public’s comments and opinions on the minimum wage will be invaluable inputs to the RTWPB. She said interested parties may also submit or present their comments or position papers pertinent to the ongoing motu propio review of the regional minimum wage on or before the scheduled consultation.
