Ex-AFP man killed in drive against drugs
By Celso Amo LEGAZPI CITY --- A former member of the Armed Forces from Gumaca, Quezon, suspected to be a drug pusher, was killed Tuesday afternoon when he shot it out with law enforcers during a sting operation in Sorsogon City. Ariel Marasigan Dimaala, alias Marlon, 31, a former AFP member of Gumaca, Quezon but residing at Purok 7 in Barangay Cambulaga in Sorsogon City was killed in a shootout at about 4:38 p.m., according to Senior Inspector Malou Calubaquib, Bicol PNP spokesperson. Joint anti-illegal drug operatives has identified the suspect as a new drug personality in Sorsogon City. A poseur-buyer was able to buy two sachets of shabu from the suspect with a marked money amounting to P1,000. And when the police tried to arrest him, the suspect fired but the police outgunned him, killing him on the spot. Recovered from the suspect were 15 sachets of shabu, two fired cartridges from a cal. 45 pistol, two fired cartridges from a cal. 9mm handgun, a deformed fired bullet, a cellular phone, wallet with different identification cards and P1,000 marked money.
