NFA rice at P27/kl available in stores
By Danilo Abad PILI, Camarines Sur --- The Camarines Sur Provincial Office of the National Food Authority here said that NFA rice may now be purchased at P27 per kilo from NFA-authorized stores in the towns of Camarines Sur, including the cities of Naga and Iriga. NFA Camarines Sur Provincial Manager Alexander Parrera said that of the 35 municipalities of the province, 23 of them, including the cities of Naga and Iriga, have received their rice allocations through the respective NFA-authorized rice retailers and outlets. He said that more imported rice allocated for Bicol will be delivered in two-weeks’ time in the designated NFA warehouses in Bicol. So far, 3,000 sacks had been delivered to Camarines Sur with 27,000 sacks more expected to be delivered for the needed stocks for the province. Meanwhile, Parrera had met with Naga City Mayor John Bongat early last week to express NFA’s support to the food needs of the city residents, particularly the sufficient supply of NFA rice to make them always available to poor and indigent families. The NFA is mandated to support the food programs and rice supply needs of local government units particularly in the latter’s support to the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), including relief operations in times of crisis and calamities.
