‘Passport on Wheels’ in Iriga on August 30


By Danilo Abad IRIGA CITY --- The city government here and the Deprtment of Foreign Affairs (DFA) will roll off the “Passport on Wheels” on August 30 at the Gaisano Capital, Bgy. San Roque, in this city. Beforre the passport processing next month, there will be pre-assessment of passport applications on July 19-20 at Gaisano Capital. A pre-assessment team will receive the documents that will be returned to the prospective applicants for mobile passporting on August 30. The Iriga City Tourism Office will spearhead the registration of applicants, including those who have already pre-registered. Each applicant will have to pay P1,200 as passport fee. A “Passport on Wheels” processing was earlier held in June at the Camarines Sur provincial capitol. About 3,000 applicants from various towns in the province were given their passports through the mobile passport service jointly initiated by the DFA and the provincial government of Camarines Sur. With the mobile passport service, applicants from outside Legazpi City and Albay, particularly those from Camarines Sur were able to secure their passports without having to go to the DFA office in Legazpi City.
