5 MORE EVENTS IN LINE: CSCCI, Pagcor spearhead 5th youth entrep congress

Neola NAGA CITY --- Over 2, 000 students from 36 colleges and universities and some one hundred young entrepreneurs from Bicol gathered to find themselves with a wide range of entrepreneurial opportunities, management tools, business skills and frameworks in plenary sessions with known players and speakers in today’s world of business. Dubbed the 5th Regional Youth Entrepreneur Congress (RYEC), the assembly was held last July 27-28, this year. It was organized by the Camarines Sur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CSCCI) along with the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) as one of the major sponsors and the Provincial Government of Camarines Sur. The event, which is by far the biggest and reputable congress of its kind in South Luzon, served as a facility where theoretical academic teachings are being harmonized with practical application of business principles to help in the development of young entrepreneurial minds as dependable partners in the achievement of the nation’s economic growth. A day before the holding of RYEC, the CSCCI conducted the CamSur Business Expo, a 5-week activity that showcased and promoted various opportunities for micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs (MSMEs), local government units, individuals who are into product, retail, and service industries, and national and international manufacturers. The activity provides also a perfect environment for business interaction and matching. On August 3-5, this year, the business organization will hold the 1st CamSur Construct and the 2nd Renewable Energy Summit. The first one is to be undertaken collaboratively with the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers (Naga City chapter), the United Architects of the Philippines-Camarines Sur, Geodetic Engineers of the Philippines-Camarines Sur and other related organizations. The event, which will reel off along the holding technical seminars and fora to be spearheaded by prominent figures in the infrastructure industry, will also provide an atmosphere for technology transfer, sharing of expertise, sourcing of materials, and advancement in construction tools and equipment aside from paving the way for better awareness of new building technologies and construction standards. The second event is going to be held in partnership with the provincial government which is aimed at providing stakeholders with insights on residential and commercial uses of solar power. Being referred to as “Tabang sa Kalikasan galing sa Enerhiya ng Araw,” this project is focused on the advantages and benefits of using solar energy that can decrease the cost of electricity consumption, at the same time helps to reduce carbon emission. Booths exhibiting solar energization of homes and commercial establishments are to be set up also at the Camarines Sur Capitol Convention Center. Speakers from the banking sector and other financial institutions will assist prospective buyers who need financial assistance in the installation of renewable energy at their homes and business establishments. As a showroom attraction, a major supplier of e-jeepneys will display his product and will invite an advocate of renewable energy from other region who has deployed electric automobiles in his city. Forums are to be held at Villa del Rey function hall. On August 9-12, this year, a four-day event will be conducted with manufacturers of cooking and bakery equipment and implements as main exhibitors. Food producers will also be given the opportunity to showcase their agricultural produce including aquatic and fishery products. Hoteliers, restaurateurs, and operators of food outlets will also be invited to participate not only to advertise their establishments but also to encourage stakeholders to patronize and establish business linkages with manufacturers and producers. Thru the event, which is focused on showcasing equipment and technologies on food and beverage production, handling, preservation and processing, it is hoped that the organizer will be able to introduce to the local market the new systems and processes. Next in line is the 1st CamSur Game Fowl Expo that will be held from August 16-18, 2018 at the Provincial Capitol Complex. In partnership with B-Meg, technical seminars on game fowl breeding techniques will be featured in the 3-day event. To be conducted on August 23-25, this year, is the 1st CamSur Agri Summit that will served as an avenue for Bicolano agriculture stakeholders to meet and actively participate in molding the future of agriculture in Bicol Region. The event will be presented by way of holding trade fairs where farmers can sell and showcase their farm produce. Techno seminars for improving farm efficiency in crop and livestock production and trade exhibits for innovative products and technologies to allow farmers to increase production.
