Naga River boat wedding
By Jason B. Neola NAGA CITY --- At least four couples were granted the opportunity to be officially married last July 23, this year, during the city’s celebration of the PWD month. The ceremonies were presided over by Mayor John G. Bongat who wed four 4 Persons With Disability (PWD) couples who had been living together for years now without the benefit of marriage. Alex Cayetano, chief of the local civil registry, said the PWD wedding took place in the city for the first time. “My office will always welcome ceremonies like this because they do not only make the PWD month celebration meaningful but more importantly unite the couples under the benefits and legitimacy of married persons,” he added. The wedding took place aboard the city’s tourist boat while cruising the Naga River.
