UNEP EVP is Maryknoll’s 2018 Amazing Alumni Achiever
IRIGA CITY --- University of Northeastern Philippines’ (UNEP) Executive Vice President Delicia “Deli” Alfelor-Tibi is this year’s recipient of Miriam College’s Amazing Alumni Achievers award, also dubbed as the Maryknoll/Miriam College Alumni Association, Inc. (MMCAA) Triple A Awards. The said recognition is given to alumni who exhibited social concern, exudes his or her unique creative expression, showed compassion to others and has retained their independent-mindedness – traits instilled to them by their beloved Alma Mater. The Triple A awardees, as MMCAA Chairperson and Triple A Committee Chairperson Elaine Gavino Urbano puts it, form part of the MC’s collective legacy which serves as an inspiration to others to be role models of service and success. Ms Deli, who also serves as UNEP Executive Vice President (EVP) for Finance has lived MC’s legacy through the various endeavors, particularly charitable and religious activities that she untiringly shared with the community. Her active participation in socio civic organizations, especially in the academe is a concrete testimony of living the values that the college instilled in her during her college days. Also, as President of the Alfelor Sr. Memorial College located at Del Gallego, Camarines Sur, Ms Deli has been instrumental in changing the lives of poor families residing in the said town through the low cost but high quality education that the college offers. The college was able to produce not just graduates but also national passers. It served as the gateway for a lot of career men and women not only from Del Gallego but also from the neighboring towns and as far as the Quezon province to finish a degree course and pursue their dreams and help their families get out from the quagmire of poverty. These are just few of the many contributions of the awardee that created a significant impact in the lives of those persons whose lives she has touched. The award’s committee is composed of Urbano as the Chairperson, MMCAA Vice Chairperson Gail Reyes Galang and MMCAA President Margaret Ann T. Ducusin. The awarding is slated on September 8 during MC’s Grand Alumni Homecoming at the Marian auditorium after the 3 o’clock mass. (UNEP)
