Couple nabbed for shabu

Arguelles LEGAZPI CITY --- A couple suspected as illegal drug pushers on Tuesday night, Aug. 7, were arrested with P150,000 worth of suspected shabu or crystal meth in their possession during an operation conducted by personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency. Collared were Manuelito Jacobe, 48, and his wife Gloria, 47, both of this city. The suspects were rounded up by virtue of a search warrant served by PDEA agents at around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday inside their residence, in Purok 1 Barangay Puro here, according to Edwin Lucero, PDEA Albay chief. Seized from the suspects were 25 grams of suspected shabu (crystal meth) with a street value of P150,000 kept inside the couple’s room. The suspects, according to Lucero, are considered high-value targets (HVT) who maintained a drug network in Barangays Sabang and Puro in this city, Lucero said. The PDEA chief added that they have confirmed that the couple has links with big-time illegal drug traders inside the National Bilibid Prison (NBP). They are now detained at the PDEA regional detention facility and are facing charges of illegal drug possession.
