Drug pusher killed in police operation

Arguelles LEGAZPI CITY --- A suspected drug pusher from Metro Manila was killed Sunday night in a police drug operation at the city boulevard in Barangay Puro, this city, according to Police Senior Supt. Nilo Berdin City Police chief. Eduardo Garcia of Las Pinas City was killed when he resisted arrest in a drug buy-bust operation by narcotics operatives at around 9:45 p.m. Sunday, August 5, along the boulevard, a favorite seaside tourist destination in this city. Berdin in his report said that during the drug operation the victim pulled a .45 handgun after sensing that the person he was transacting with was a police operative posing as a buyer, which prompted the police crack team to fire back. The victim suffered gunshot wounds in his body, the report said. Recovered from the victim were two plastic sealed sachets containing suspected shabu crystal meth (5 grams each) worth P68,000.00 and a .45 pistol. The drug operation was carried out after police operatives received reports about the victim’s drug operation here.
