NPA war materials uncovered in Masbate


LEGAZPI CITY --- Army troopers recovered war materials Thursday (Aug. 9) morning after uncovering an abandoned camp of the New People’s Army rebels in San Fernando, Masbate. Combined elements from Scout and Intelligence Platoon of the 2nd and 22nd Infantry Batallion led by 1Lt. April John del Rosario, while conducting combat strike operation, discovered an abandoned NPA camp and recovered assorted ammunitions at about 9:57 a.m. of Aug. 9 in Bgy Alta Vista of the said town, according to Senior Inspector Malou Calubaquib, based on reports from San Fernando police. The discovery includes ammunitions for M-16 rifle and M-60 machinegun, a laptop with charger, an improvised explosive, an ICOM radio with charger and headset, nine cellular phones, a binocular,three rolls of wire, a box of double AA batteries, assorted groceries and personal belongings.
