Sked more river boat trips

By Armie B. Gunay NAGA CITY --- With the current schedule of the Naga River boat transport set twice in a day —at 6:00 am to 9:00 am ad 4pm to 6:00 pm, Mondays thru Sundays -- the city government here is planning to put up additional trips for more passengers. Mayor John Bongat said there are more who want to experience the Naga River cruise, hence the need to schedule more trips within the day. The mayor said the city hall is also studying the possibility of inviting private companies to operate their own river transport system. Another innovation being looked into is the operation of electric boats along the Naga River. Two tourist boats, the MV Peñafrancia and the MV Divino Rostro, with 20 passenger-seating capacity each, are presently serving the river transport cruise. The river boat transport system is also seen as an alternate route, especially or students to the daily traffic along city roads, especially during rush hours.
