South Luzon biz confab opens Friday in Legazpi
LEGAZPI CITY --- Albay Governor Al Francis Bichara, Albay 2nd District Rep. Joey Salceda and Legazpi City Mayor Noel Rosal will welcome the delegates and guests to the 27th South Luzon Area Business Conference that will formally open on Friday (Aug. 24) morning at the Grand Ballroom of The Oriental Legazpi Hotel here. A colorful opening ceremonies will be ushered in by the entrance of colors and parade of the different officers of the business chambers in South Luzon (Regions 4A and 4B) and Bicol. Vice President for Luzon Ms. Teresita M Leabres of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) will call to order the first day of the two day business conference and deliver the opening statement. President Rosemarie Quinto-Rey of the Albay Chamber of Commerce and Industry will introduce PCCI President Alegria Sibal-Limjoco as Keynote Speaker for the day. During the ensuing first plenary session in the afternoon, Mr. Guillermo M. Luz, former Private Sector Co-Chairman of the National Competitiveness Council, will discuss the “Challenge of Competitiveness of Philippine Enterprises, in relation to RA 11032, or the Ease of Doing Business in the Philippines. The second plenary session will follow at about 4:00 p.m. of the same day with Tourism Undersecretary Arturo Boncato to discuss on “Emerging Trends in Sustainable Tourism.” More panel discussions, after a recap of previous day’s session by PCCI Regional Governor for Bicol Claarine P. Tobias, will follow on the next day, Saturday, with Sen. Cynthia Villar and AGRI Partylist Rep. Delphine Gan Lee as among the speakers.
