Good Morning Judge: Ours is a Troubled World

AMID the dens, troubles and noise surrounding us today, please allow me to share with you the following exhortations of St. Francis of Assisi (1182-1226) in his prayer. It is said that few of the saints have also been poets, able to put into words that haunts our memory, prayers that probe our psyche, and prescribe our cure. “Lord, make me an instrument of thy peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; Where there is sadness, joy; O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek To be consoled, as to console; Not so much to be understood as To understand; not so much to be Loved as to love; For it is in giving that we receive; It is in pardoning, that we are pardoned; It is in dying, that we are awaken to eternal life.” TRIVIA: Through this column, all members of the Knights of Rizal are reminded of our Special Meeting this Saturday, September 22, at 2:00 pm at the Rizal Center. Important matters concerning issues involving our organization will be taken up. Congratulations and advance birthday greetings to our AdeNU high school ‘54 batch mate Gil Malanyaon who will be celebrating his Nth birthday anniversary on Tuesday, September 25. QUOTATION OF THE WEEK: “IN SUCH A WORLD OF CONFLICT, A WORLD OF VICTIMS AND EXECUTIONERS, IT IS THE JOB OF THINKING PEOPLE NOT TO BE ON THE SIDE OF EXECUTIONERS.” ALBERT CAMUS FOR OUR WORLD OF LIFE: “BUT THE LORD IS WITH ME, LIKE A MIGHTY CHAMPION; MY PERSECUTORS WILL STUMBLE, THEY WILL NOT TRIUMPT.” JEREMIAH 20:11
