10th NCIP Summit to converge top ICT players

NAGA CITY --- All systems go for the premier and much-awaited National ICT Summit in Naga City on November 22-24, 2018 at the Avenue Plaza Hotel. Spearheaded by the National Confederation of ICT Councils of the Philippines (NICP), in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). This annual event is being hosted this year by the ICT@Bicol_Metro Naga Council, Inc. and the City Government of Naga. This event will gather the country’s dynamic ICT community – leaders of industry, government, academe and organizations working together driving innovation, investments and opportunities in the countrysides. The 10th NICP National ICT Summit will showcase five game changing plenaries, high-impact breakout sessions on cyber security, and Start-Ups, including IT-BPM Tech Exhibits and Job Fair. Series of Networking and Business Matching opportunities will be part of the program. The 10th NICP National ICT summit will incorporate the main components: A conference on digital research and innovation policies, inclusive of topics and discussions involving the IT-BPM industry, Talent Development, the Innovation Ecosystem and Disruptive Technologies in the field of ICT. An exhibition of sponsors and innovation projects in the field of ICT, a series of networking and business matching sessions and fellowship activities, an innovation and start-up area to showcase the different innovative collaboration of the Industrial, Academe and Government sectors. The plenary sessions will give the participants the opportunity to get into discussions with industry and Government leaders and experts on the different topics discussed by the speakers. The theme of this conference is “ A DECADE OF INCLUSIVE COUNTRYSIDE DEVELOPMENT: Managing Digital Transformation Driven by Disruptive Technologies.” It showcases NICP’s ten (10) years as a champion for ICT Countryside Development. It will encapsulate a decade of creating strategies and transforming Philippine cities and provinces into digital hubs for employment, investments, and entrepreneurial opportunities. E. Robredo, to expound on the Digital Caravan: Transforming Cities through Best Practices in eGovernance, Secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry, Hon. Ramon Lopez , on Developing a Robust ICT Ecosystem for Countryside Development, Chairman of the Commission on Higher Education, Hon. Prospero E. De Vera III, on Gearing Up for the Future of Work: Moving Towards to the 4th Industrial Revolution, Philippine Leader, of IBM Client Innovation Center, Mr. Arnuj Malhotra to talk on “Achieving Inclusive Growth Through Digital Transformation”. Secretary Christopher Lawrence T. Go will deliver the Keynote Address, Followed by messages from DICT Secretary Eliseo Rio and NICP President Dr. Antonio del Carmen. De Leon said, Naga City, being the region’s center of business, finance, education, religion and culture, was chosen as the host for this year’s conference.
