22nd OKB-Exciting Bicol, a resounding success

NAGA CITY --- The recently concluded 22nd OKB-Exciting Bicol Regional Trade & Travel Fair 2018 held at SM Megamall in Metro Metro Manila brought in P28M sales, which exceeded the P25M target.

Many products showcased in OKB-Exciting Bicol are already being exported to the US, Canada, Japan, Korea, Europe, among others.

A project jointly organized with the OKB Association, Inc., and the Department of Tourism, OKB-Exciting Bicol fair has become institutionalized through the years. It is one of the longest-running DTI-organized trade fairs in the whole country.

The high sales were attributed to a display of wider product lines from Wearables and Homestyle, Processed Foods, and Furniture & Furnishing, with 322 new products that delighted the buyers. Bicol products have really evolved and have become world-class. The products displayed underwent intensive product development prior to the exhibit.

As in the past, the top performers for OKB 2017 were awarded during the opening ceremony. Top performers were Arim’s Muscovado Milling Facility of Albay for Processed Food, Marclo Enterprises of Catanduanes for Furniture & Furnishing, and RLM Native Crafts of Albay for Wearables & Homestyle.

Himig Kapitolyo of Sorsogon, MAG Dancers of Iriga City, Tabaco City’s La Pelicula Tabaqueña, and OKB and Paracale Fashion Shows provided entertainment at the fair. (J.R.BERANGO, DTI-Bicol)
