Inter civic basketball tourney to open Oct. 27

NAGA CITY --- Teams from five civic organizations will soon hit the hardcourt when the first Inter-Civic Organization Basketball Tournament kicks off on Saturday, October 27, at the air-conditioned ALDP Basketball Court along Diversion Road, Barangay Triangulo, in this city.

Clashes will start after the brief motorcade and opening program at 3:00 p.m. with Mayor John G. Bongat as guest speaker. President Ferdinand ‘Dondon’ Sia of the Metro Naga Chamber of Commerce and Industry will welcome the players and guests.

The five competing teams are Kabalikat Bicol, Rotary Club of Iriga, PICE Naga, LTO, and Metro Naga Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI).

Opening games will feature the Rotary Club of Iriga vs PICE Naga at 3:00 p.m. and Kabalikat Bikol vs LTO at 5:00 p.m.

The basketball tournament will last for about two months into the city’s Kamundagan festival in December 2018 for the championship game.

It is being sponsored and hosted by the Metro Naga Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in partnership with the City Government of Naga.
