KB bares official candidates
LEGAZPI CITY --- Kusog Bikolandia, the newest regional political party in Bicol accredited by the Commission on Elections, is fielding a total of 58 official candidates in the six provinces of the Bicol Region for the 2019 mid-term elections.
Noel de Luna, Kusog Bikolandia chairman, said these candidates will all be running under a platform of political reform, regional unity and focused advocacy towards Bicol socio-economic development.
Kusog Bikolandia’s registration with Comelec as a regional political party has been promulgated on October 15, 2018, just in time before the deadline for the filing of the Certificates of Candidacy two days later, which was on October 17, 2018.
The most number of candidates come from Albay (with 21), followed by Camarines Sur (14), Sorsogon (8), Masbate (6), Camarines Norte (6), and Catanduanes (3), or a total of 58 candidates, for various positions, from congressman to mayor, vice-mayor, sangguniang panlalawigan, sangguniang panglunsod, and sangguniang bayan.
Those running for seats in Congress are Liwayway Vinzons Chato in Camarines Norte and the KB President himself, Atty. Jorge Samiento, in the island province of Catanduanes.
Among the mayoral candidates are: Lennebelle Santos (Malinao, Albay); Noel Estillomo (Sto. Domingo, Albay); Herbert Borja (Polangui, Albay); Felix Brazil (Bula, Camarines Sur); and Donovan Mancenido (Talisay, Camarines Norte).
For vice mayor: Job Belen (Malilipot, Albay); Ernalyn Solisa (Malinao,Albay); Raymundo Aquino (Donsol, Sorsogon); Jopito Agualada (Cabusao, Camarines Sur); Jeannne Yapyuco (Merceds, Camarines Norte); and Col. Tomas Semeniano (Claveria, Masbate).
For provincial board member: Ivan Andes (2nd District, Albay); Neson Marana (1st District, Sorsogon); Domingo Halum (2nd District, Sorsogon); Edwin Gadia (3rd District, Masbate); and Atty. Fred Gianan, Jr. (Catanduanes West District).
For city councilor: Lourdes Berces (Tabaco City, Albay) and Redencion de Leoz (Legazpi City).

As agenda-based political party, KB focuses on concerns affecting the Bicol region, its fundamental beliefs reflect the prevailing regional culture. “We gather our strength and draw inspiration from our own people, such that we are independent and separate from other traditional national political parties but may enter into tactical alliances with other interest groups based on principle and commonality on regional aspiraation aand priorities,” De Luna stressed. jbp
