BRPC Planning held

Diocesan Representatives from the Bikol Dioceses met at El Retiro Retreat House, Cabidan, Sorsogon to plan for the operationalization of the Bikol Regional Pastoral Conference (BRPC). The BRPC is a fruit of the 3rd Bikol Priests Conference which was also held in Sorsogon City last August 2018.

The aim of the BRPC is to promote regional cooperation and collaboration in the pastoral ministry of the Bikol Dioceses. The BRPC, being a Regional Conference of Bishops, is mainly constituted by the Bishops of the 7 Dioceses of Bikol, namely: Caceres, Daet, Libmanan, Legazpi, Sorsogon, Virac and Masbate. The diocesan representatives, composed of priests, consecrated and lay persons commissioned by their respective Bishops, were led by Msgr. Francisco Monje, BRCP Executive Secretary.

Part of the meeting was a reflection on the Socio-Pastoral Economic Situation of the Bikol Region facilitated by Dr. Maria Leny Felix, an international consultant for organizational development. The BRPC hopes to be an instrument and venue for sharing of resources among the Bikol Dioceses in view of enhancing and advancing pastoral ministry in the region. (R. Francisco A. Evangelista)
