CEACAL Host 9th Teachers Congress at USI
The Catholic Educational Association of Caceres and Libmanan (CEACAL) the 9th Teachers’ Congress was held on January 18,2019 at Universidad de Sta. Isabel (USI) Auditorium with the theme “Sanctification: From Brokenness to Blessedness”. There were 914 participants coming from the different catholic schools in the Archdiocese of Caceres and Diocese of Libmanan. The event was started by Eucharistic celebration presided over by Bishop-elect of Daet, Fr. Rex Andrew Alarcon. In his homily Fr. Rex recognized the role of the teachers in motivating their students in bringing change to our society. Towards the end of the liturgy, Fr. Alarcon, President of CEACAL for eight consecutive years, was given recognition. It was followed by the talk of Fr. Jessel Gerard “JBoy” Gonzales, SJ with the title Sparks of Joy in Teaching Techies, according to him there are four things that a contemporary educator should remember in teaching generation Z students, these are Humanity, Spirituality, Altruism and Transformative Leadership. According to him these four aspects played important role in molding the mind, values and spirituality of our students that will empower them in making difference to our country. Fr. JBoy narrated to the audience his experiences as Senior High School mentor and the lessons he got from his students if they will be loved and taken careby the teachers. In the afternoon, different presentations coming from St. Bridget School, Colegio de Santa Rita, Naga Parochial School, Sta. Rafaela Maria School of Naga City and Universidad de Santa Isabel were rendered as part of the fellowship for the teachers. This annual teachers congress was created to give opportunity for the school administrators and teachers of the catholic schools from the two local church to create camaraderie and support system within the catholic institutions.
