LGU-Pili faced power disconnection for P2.5 million charge
NAGA CITY-The Institutional Services Department of Camarines Sur II Electric Cooperative (CASURECO II) conducted power service disconnection at the Municipal Hall of Pili, Camarines Sur last Monday morning, March 18, 2019.
The stated activity was meant to be conducted last Friday, March 15, but delayed due to the employees’ weekend vacations said Rinner Edman Bucay, Public Information Officer of the Institutional Services Department of the stated cooperative.
On an interview to Bucay he stated that the power disconnection to the Local Government Unit (LGU)-Pili is done due to P2.5 million worth of payment which the local government of the stated town was failed to pay within 30 days that CASURECO II demanded.
Last February 15, 2019, the electric cooperative has sent a demand letter to the municipal hall stating that the local government must pay the said payment within 30 days.
Bucay said that there will be additional charge to the LGU-Pili with an amount of P130,000 for non-compliance to the cooperative’s regulation.
Bucay explained that the local government can avail down payment to complete the charges but it will depend on the approval of CASURECO II board members and management.
