San Francisco Church, Naga Metropolitan Cathedral as Popular stops druing lent

VISITA IGLESIA. During Lent, one of the more popular stops for the annual pilgrimage of devotees is the San Francisco Church in Naga City which is located right at the center of downtown Naga. The church is likewise included in Bicol’s history as the Spaniards’ last refuge in the Bicol uprising during the fight for Philippine independence in 1898 led by Bicolano heroes Elias Angeles and Felix Plazo. The remains of the original belfry still exist up to this day. Camarines Sur Gov. Migz Villafuerte thru the Provincial Tourism Office promotes such interesting spots that educate us on local history. jmts/rbmjr/mmec040319 with photo from fb_ProvinceofCamSur
