MNWD 40th Anniversary celebration kicks off at Palmera Village Resettlement site
EVENT HIGHLIGHTS. Apart from the services extended by LGU Naga through GNP, the MNWD team also gave 21 customized water drums, snacks, and free water.
As part of its 40th Anniversary Celebration, the Metropolitan Naga Water District (MNWD) conducted a Community Outreach in partnership with Ginhawang Nagueño Program (GNP) on April 12, 2019 at Palmera Village Resettlement Site, Sitio Salunguigui, Brgy. Cararayan, Naga City.
With the theme “Moving with Time: 40 Years of Growth and Excellence,” the visit to Palmera Urban Poor was led by the MNWD Production Department headed by Roque S. Francisco, OIC Production Department with the support of GNP through Eric Jason M. Salvino, Executive Officer.
Aimed to strengthen the delivery of basic services to the less fortunate communities and uplift the living standards of the people, the kick-off activity showcased simultaneous activities such as free dental services offered by Dr. Jhoan Collao – Año and medical check-up by Dr. Leslie B. Villamora, volunteer doctors assisted by personnel from the City Health Office, civil registration from the Civil Registry Office, study courses and program consultation with the City College of Naga, rationing of potable water, presentation on Application for New Water Service Connection and Inspection for Proposed Lateral Lines, and parlor games for the children.
Some 600 residents availed for themselves of the services provided as early as 8 o’clock in the morning. Customized water drums were also given to 21 recipients, loot bags for the children with snacks served to all guests and beneficiary families.
Meanwhile, in his message, General Manager Virgilio B. Luansing I, reassured the residents access to clean water 24/7 with the nearing completion of the Salunguigui Pumping Station.
This year’s MNWD anniversary seeks to unite all employees and celebrate by giving back to the community that has been its home for 40 years. (Auria S. Gonzales)
