Belated Happy Easter to All

In observation of the Holy Week instead of our regular commentary column, we will share with you the following famous prayer composed by St. Francis of Assisi (1182-1226) quoted hereunder, to wit:

“Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

Where there is injury, pardon;

Where there is doubt, faith;

Where there is despair, hope;

Where there is darkness, light;

Where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that

I may not so much seek

To be consoled, as to console

Not so much to be understood as

To understand; not so much to be

Loved as to love;

For it is in giving that we receive;

It is in pardoning, that we are pardoned;

It is in dying, that we awaken to eternal life.

Belated HAPPY EASTER SUNDAY TO ALL!

Note: It is said that “Few of the saints have also been poets, able to put into words that haunt our memory, prayers that probe our psyche, and prescribe our cure. Send us forth, O God, this day, remembering that we are your tools, your voice and hands, for the needs of the world. In His name amen.
