Bong Go not complacent despite strong showing in surveys, thanks supporters for undying support

Despite his strong showing in the recent survey on the senatorial race, former Special Assistant to the President and 2019 senatorial candidate Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go on Tuesday said he would not be complacent and would instead pursue his campaign up to the last hour. The latest Pulse Asia survey showed Go secured within the “Magic 12,” or in 4th place with an awareness rating of 98 percent.

“Hindi po ako magiging kampante. Hanggang sa huling araw, hanggang sa huling oras ng kampanya ay iikot po ako,” Go said.

However, Go clarified that his visit to various places in the country is not only meant to pursue his campaign for a Senate seat but also to get in touch with the locals and personally hear their sentiments.

Go credited his strong showing in the surveys on the support of the people who believe in President Rodrigo Duterte.

Hindi ko kayo bibiguin,” Go said.

Meanwhile, Go also clarified that he has not harbored any ambition of landing among the front-runners in the senatorial contest.

It could be recalled that earlier, Go said he is pursuing his campaign as hard as he could but he is leaving his fate entirely to the hands of God.

Likewise, Go reiterated that he would fight clean and fair despite the black propaganda campaign earlier waged against him.

“Para sa akin mangangampanya po kami ng malinis at tapat, so tuloy lang kami,” Go said.

The former SAP stressed his commitment to support the programs and policies of President Duterte.

Likewise, Go said he would always be willing to relay to President Duterte any concern the people may have that they want to bring to the attention of the President.

“Ako ang patuloy ninyong magiging tulay kay Pangulong Duterte,” Go said.

He stressed that in running for the Senate his only intention is to serve the Filipino people.

He said that among the top priorities under his legislative agenda is the institutionalization of the Malasakit Center and the establishment of such centers in more areas in the country.

A program of the Duterte administration based on Go’s idea, the Malasakit Center facilitates the process of securing medical and financial assistance from the government by bringing together in one room concerned agencies such as the DOH, DSWD, PCSO and Philhealth.

Other priority items under Go’s legislative agenda include programs for agriculture, housing for the poor, education, long-term sports development, fire protection and prevention, localized peace talks, barangay welfare, creation of a Department of OFW and improved benefits for senior citizens.
