3.8-magnitude quake jolts Albay
LEGAZPI CITY -- It seems no one cared to talk about it because every news was about the election, but a 3.8-magnitude earthquake jolted the province of Albay on Tuesday morning, as reported by the the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The earthquake, of tectonic origin, was felt in Legazpi City at Intensity 3.
Phivolcs instruments recorded the earthquake at about 9:36 a.m., May 14, and traced the epicenter to Rapu-Rapu, Albay.
Ed Laguerta, Phivolcs resident volcanologist here, said the tremor had a depth of 7 km. No casualty or damage to properties has been reported as a result of the temblor.
