LEGAZPI CITY --- Police operatives nabbed on Saturday two alleged gun runners in an entrapment operation in a village in Virac, Catanduanes, a police report said.
Police Lt. Col. Venerando Ramirez, chief of the Police Community Relation Office (PCRO) in Catanduanes said Vince Bongat, 46, married of Barangay San Roque, and Joselito Valencia, 52, married of Barangay Danicop, all of Virac town, were caught selling firearms to a police undercover operative during a police operation in Barangay Pajo Baguio, Virac town at around 2:30 a.m. Saturday last week.
The police raiding team seized from the suspect an AR-15 Cal. 9mm assault rifle, Ingram M11 Cal. 9mm, two magazines for an AR-15 rifle, three magazines for Ingram, a 4-inch long knife, and a cell phone.
Police also confiscated a motorcycle with plate number PN-050110.
The suspects did not resist arrest, They were brought to the PNP custodial facility in Virac town for disposition and further investigatyion.
Charges of gun running and violation of Commission on Election (COMELEC) gun ban were being readied against the suspects.
