Parish Formal Turn Over. Before a new parish priest takes over his post, a canonical turnover is a must. Fr. Fidel Bagayaua, the new parish priest of San Francisco Parish, Naga City, accepts the responsibility to the former pastor, Fr Arkie Caceres who is now going to St Anthony Parish, Iriga City. The turn over is usually witnessed by the archdiocesan oeconumus and the chancellor together with the parish pastoral council and some members of religious organization. The symbolic giving of the book of baptism to the incoming parish priest is done in the turn over. Since the parish priest only shares his ministry with the (arch)bishop who himself is the shepherd of the diocese, later on, during the Solemn Installation, the parish priest receives the official mandate from the archbishop in a formal ceremony that is witnessed by the entire parish community.
