End of the road for a gang leader

LEGAZPI CITY --- Police operatives killed on Monday a leader of a crime gang in an encounter at a remote village in Juban town in Sorsogon, a police report said.

Ralph Deri, leader of Deri Criminal Gang, was killed in a clash with a police crack team in Barangay Rangas, a remote village in Juban town, according to Police Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Philippine National Police (PNP) Bicol spokesperson.

Police operatives were on surveillance operation when they chanced upon the gang leader that led to a brief firefight at around 11:30 a.m.

The victim sustained several gunshot wounds that killed him on the spot.
