6 win in Singapore Math Olympiad

NAGA CITY --- Six young Bicolanos made their mark in the 5th Singapore International Math Olympiad Challenge (SIMOC) held July 5, this year.

They bagged one Gold Medal, one Silver Medal, 3 Bronze Medals and one Honorable Mention Certificate.

The mathletes were trained by Asian Math and Science League, Inc. (AMSLI), a non- profit organization of Math and Science enthusiasts that aims to inculcate, promote, and develop interests and awareness among Filipino teachers and students about international math and science activities such as competitions, educational programs, enrichment workshops, conferences, courses and training programs, exhibits, and other related events.

The local AMSLI center here in Bicol is based in this city. It is the home to Math and Science Olympiads, and trainings for this school year will start soon. Interested Grades 2 to 10 students may take their qualifying exam on August 3, 2019 at Naga City Montessori School, the AMSLI center in the Bicol Region.
