Bicolano Master of the Dominicans to visit Daet
The 88th Successor of St. Dominic de Guzman and the First Filipino Master of the Order of Preachers : VERY REV. FR. GERARD FRANCISCO PARCO TIMONER III, OP Fr. Timoner, 51, now heads all the Dominicans around the world.
Fr. Gerard will visit his hometown soon. As posted on the FB page of the Diocese of Daet: Fr. Gerard Francisco P. Timoner, III OP, will celebrate a Thanksgiving Mass at the Parroquia de San Juan Bautista, where he was baptized and confirmed, on August 14, 2019 at 5:15pm, Vigil Mass of the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Fr. Timoner is a former Rector of the Interdiocesan Seminary of the Philippines, former Provincial of the Dominican Province of the Philippines, former Vice-Chancellor of the Catholic University of the Philippines (UST), handpicked by Pope Francis to serve as lone Filipino member of the prestigious International Theological Commision and at the same time served as Socius of the Master of the Order for Asia-Pacific, is now the 88th successor of St. Dominic de Guzman. He is also the first Asian Dominican to be elected as Master-General of the Order.
Fr. Gerard Parco Timoner is the son of the late +Francisco Jr and the late +Lilia Parco, who hails from Bato CS but grew up in Naga and she was the first girl alumna of Naga Parochial School. Fr. Gerard is also the brother of Fr. Ronald Anthony Timoner, the Vicar General amd Chancellor of the Diocese of Daet.
