DARAGA, Albay --- Senator Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao will allocate P30 to P50 million to finish the construction of Daraga Community College (DCOMC) in Barangay Salvacion, Daraga town.

Pacquiao arrived in Legazpi City on Saturday afternoon to grace the inauguration of Daraga Community College (DCOMC).

The boxing icon proceeded to Daraga Community College along with Congressman Joey Sarte Salceda of the second district of Albay to grace the inauguration of a community school for tertiary level.

In his speech, Pacman recalled his plight as a poor boy going to school without enough food and money.

He encouraged the students to pursue their education despite the hardships even as the government is providing universal free education that will benefit most the poor students who will no longer have to worry about the tuition fees.

The senator from Mindanao said he would allocate the funds needed to complete the construction of DCOMC but did not reveal the exact amount he would be releasing to the community school here.

“I will allocate budget to help you finish the construction of your school,” Pacquiao said.

But in a quick interview, Pacman told the Bicol Mail that he would be allocating from P30M to P50M.

When asked by this reporter if there is chance to help communities with problem on water supply, Paquiao said that should there be a formal request, his office would act on it accordingly.

Pacman’s Legazpi visit was his first out of town sortie after outboxing Keith Thurman at the MGM Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada via split decision only a few days ago.

The boxing senator was expected to watch the basketball game where his team was also set to play at the Ibalong Centrum for Recreation in Legazpi City.

The hometown team, Bicol Volcanoes, was up against Iloilo Royals on the second game with the first game featuring San Juan Knights against Bataan Risers.
