Sorsogon Bishop Arturo Bastes Leads Admission to the Sacred Orders

“Let all that you do be done in love.” (1 Corinthians 16:14)

NAGA CITY-- Eighteen seminarians from the Archdiocese of Caceres, Dioceses of Legazpi, Sorsogon, Catanduanes, and Daet, were admitted to the Candidacy to the Sacred Orders on August 18, this year, held at the Good Shepherd Chapel of the Holy Rosary Major Seminary.

The rite of admission was held within the celebration of the Eucharist which was presided over by Most Rev. Arturo Bastes, SVD, DD, Bishop of Sorsogon.

The Rite of Admission to candidacy for Holy Orders is celebrated when a seminarian, usually in his second year Theology study, has reached a maturity of purpose in his formation and has demonstrated the necessary qualification for ordination. In the presence of the bishop, one publicly expresses his intention to complete his preparation for holy orders.
