Pirated DVDs sacked in raid
LEGAZPI CITY --- Close to P3M worth of pirated Digital Versatile Disc (DVD) and several storage devices were confiscated on Tuesday afternoon in a raid by operatives of the Optical Media Board (OMB) and the police in this city’s business district, a police report said yesterday.
Police Capt. Dexter Panganiban, Philippine National Police (PNP) Albay spokesperson, said members of OMB and the city police SWAT team swooped down at around 2:00 p.m. on several Video stores selling pirated DVD in Barangays Bitano and Oro Site.
The raiding team confiscated 17 sacks of pirated media discs amounting to P2.38M and 650 pieces storage devices with a market value of P559,000.
The seized items were seized by OMB operatives for proper disposition.
