San Jose hosts Partido athletic meet



San Jose, Camarines Sur - DepED- San Jose District will host this year’s congressional meet starting September 24 to 28, 2019, in compliance with the department’s mandate that includes cultural and sports events, as part of or figured in the country’s educational system and curriculum.

The event will be participated in by selected and best elementary and secondary students of the respective district in the entire Partido. They are delegations coming from Caramoan South and Caramoan North Districts , Garchitorena District, Goa, Lagonoy South and Lagonoy North Districts, Parubcan District, Sagnay , Siruma , Tigaon District, Tinambac South and Tinambac South Districts, and the host district, San Jose.

As scheduled, on September 24, 2019, a day ahead of the formal opening, the “ Festival of Talents” with three parts, namely, “Music, Dance and Instruments Competition” at San Jose National High School, Brgy. Boclod; “Sining Tanghalan Events” at Vivencio Obias NHS at Brgy. Kinalansan; and, “ Bayle sa Kalye” infront of the Municipa Hall Building, will be conducted.

In the opening program with a “parade” on September 26, 2019, 7:00AM at San Jose Central School , aside from athletes and participants, mayor of respective LGUs and officials and heads of each delegation, the Hon. Migz Villafuerte, Governor of Camarines Sur, Hon. Arnulf Bryan B. Fuentebella, Congressman of the 4th District of the province, and Dr. Gilbert T. Sadsad, DepEd- Regional Director, will also be coming to grace the occasion by their presence and to give their respective inspirational message.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, a “luncheon” will be offered by the host municipality, LGU-San Jose through the full support of its local chief executive, Mayor Marco P. Chavez, Ph. D., and the Sangguniang Bayan headed by VM Virgilio P. Panuelos. At 7:00 PM of the same day, a “Welcome Socials and Mayor’s Night” will be held at the San Jose Cultural Center where various cultural presentations and entertainment by local mentors and artists will be proudly showcased. Popular locally composed Bikol songs will be rendered by the K of C choir like “San Jose, an sakuyang banwa”, “Partido”, and “Punay”. Likewise, community-based cuisines like “biko”, various pork products, and local wines of San Jose will be openly offered.


As part of the preparation to ensure success, since last year DepEd San Jose, under then the leadership of PSDS, Dr. Maria Fe Silos, has undertaken a lot of interventions to raise funds like “fun run”, “concerts”, caroling” etc., and has tapped concerned agencies specially LGU-San Jose, private entities, , barangays, and civic organizations for technical and material assistance. However, the similarly energetic district supervisor who succeeded her, Mr. Reynaldo N. Briguel, Ed.D., incessantly carried out the most critical part and final phase or finishing touches of the program to be more fulfilling.

Locals of this unit said that while staying in San Jose within the duration of the occasion, guests and visitors can or may opportune to enjoy the municipality’s tourism potentials like sincerely visiting as pilgrim/s to the most significant historical landmark, the Parish Church, now recently conferred to as an Archdiocesan Shrine of Saint Joseph, the first and only in Partido; a “ fun-fresh strolling” at the longest beach in the province, with a state-of-the-art Port Alfred Resort in Barangay Dolo and an Eco-Mangrove Farm in Barangay Tagas; and, a nature trekking at the mountain of Barangay Adiangao with its famous cave and “three layered “ falls.
