The Provincial Government of Camarines Sur, in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources- Environmental Management Bureau 5 (DENR-EMB 5), conducted a simultaneous clean up drive dubbed, “Bayan Ko, Linis Ko” in all the municipalities of Camarines Sur as part of the annual celebration of the International Coastal Clean Up Day.

Through the Environment, Disaster Management, and Emergency Response Office (EDMERO) and all its partner agencies, people in the community took part in cleaning their respective areas including the streets, waterways, canals, creeks, and other areas. They were also taught proper solid waste management and proper use of the Material Recovery Facility (MRF).

In Camaligan, the C5 Creek was among the areas for cleanup as it is one of the big tributaries of the Bicol River. An underwater clean-up was also conducted in the coasts of Caramoan. Meanwhile, a massive cleanup of shorelines was held in Pasacao.

The cleanup activity also coincides with the last day of the provincewide Search and Destroy Operation, a program where mosquito breeding areas are identified and destroyed or cleaned to combat the outbreak of dengue in the province.

The provincial government has always been actively initiating projects to create a cleaner, greener, and healthier Camarines Sur.
