Relic of The Past

Naga now is a combination of its old charm and the new landscape we are presently enjoying. It is noteworthy that efforts have been exerted to preserve a quaint brick archway located at the corner of Panganiban approaching the bridge, which is a relic of the old Naga adding even more character to the whole structure. Like the old Colegio de Sta. Isabel and the Holy Rosary Minor Seminary which has been preserved through all these years, this heritage from the past reminds us of what Naga has been, a legacy we have preserved for future generation of Naguenos.
Recently, the Naga City Jaycees held its Junior Chamber International (JCI) Convention at the Avenue Plaza Hotel. As a former member of the Naga City Jaycees and having been its President once, I was happy to see the delegate and their spouses. I therefore commend its leadership for sponsoring the Convention here in Naga City. We hope that the delegates enjoyed a taste of life what the Pilgrim City is really like.
The efforts of the City Administration under the leadership of Mayor Nelson Legacion to continue the cleanliness campaign started by the previous administration must also be given credence. The people of Naga deserve no less. Consonant to its role as Pilgrim city and a tourist destination demands a collective effort from all sectors in this campaign. Perhaps the Tourism Office should conduct ongoing training to engage everyone’s participation in development.
