Police ask Netizens: Avoid posting whereabouts during All Saints Day
NAGA CITY---The regional office of the Philippine National Police based in Camp Simeon Ola in Legazpi City, Albay has called on netizens to avoid posting their whereabouts in their social media accounts on All Saints Day and All Souls Day.
This is to avoid burglaries and other crimes that are likely to occur during those periods when everyone are almost out of their homes to pay respects to their loved ones in the cemeteries and memorial parks. In a memorandum order released by the regional office last Tuesday, October 22, the police asked the public to be vigilant.
Police personnel will be deployed in major roads, churches, cemeteries, bus terminals, and business establishments for traffic management and assistance, and to maintain peace and order and security in the strategic areas.
Police also advised the visiting public to avoid wearing expensive jewelries and exposure of items like gadgets and large amount of money to prevent theft and robbery.
They suggested that homeowners should at least ask their neighbor to watch over their homes while they are away for the observance of the All Saints Day and All Souls Day.
