Pope Francis Visits Thailand, praises Thais’ Love for Peace

Pope Francis has praised Thailand for promoting harmony and peace as he prepares to make his first visit to the kingdom.

In a video message from the Vatican, he said that “in this world that too frequently experiences discord, division and exclusion,” Thailand has shown commitment to work hard “to promote harmony and a peaceful coexistence.”

The pope said he is hoping to “strengthen the bonds of friendship that we share with many Buddhist brothers and sisters” during his visit to Thailand from Nov. 20-23, 2019
