Suspects in 2 shooting incidents still unknown

NAGA CITY--- Police authorities are still looking for the suspects in two out of the four different shooting incidents that happened in the province, which killed three persons and wounded three others more than a week after the incidents.

Police Corporal Jonah Quien, spokesperson of the Buhi Municipal Police Station (MPS) said that the suspect in the Burocbusoc, Buhi shooting incident has been identified but his name is being withheld for the moment. The suspect on Dec. 16 shot and wounded Reymart Ocera, 23, and spouses Nelson and Maricel Peñano, both 38 years old. The trio are being treated for bullet wounds in a hospital in Iriga City.

Quien said the suspect, a government employee, is a business partner of the victims in a lending business. The victims received threats from the suspects prior to the shooting. In the morning of Dec. 16, the suspect shot the victims at a sari-sari store in Burocbusoc village.

She said the motive behind the crime has something to do with the profit sharing of their lending business. A case for frustrated murder will be filed against the suspect.

In a separate development, Police Senior Master Sargean Albert Tapagnan of the Magarao MPS said that the estranged wife of the victim, Charo Anonuevo, 40, is now considered as a person of interest behind the killing of Donald Anonuevo, 43, who was shot dead in the evening of Dec. 14 while driving his motorcycle along Sitio Calangcaan, Barangay Sta. Lucia, Magarao, Camarines Sur.

He said that based on closed circuit television (CCTV) footage obtained by the police, Charo was seen with the victim in Pechelitos Resort, Mariners Village in Magarao town.

The suspect who killed the victim, an employee of the Naga City government, was reportedly driving a motorcycle. Police authorities are still investigating the motive behind the shooting.

In Ragay, Camarines Sur, the police has ruled the death of Glorioso Alicaway, 57, a former seaman of Banga Caves as a suicide. He was found dead with a bullet wound on his chest.

Responding cops found on the scene a caliber 45 pistol with serial number NDP05248 registered in the name of the victim

Meanwhile, the Pili MPS is still in the dark as to the identity and motive of the suspect in the killing of Jona Nonato Peña, 32 of San Roque, Sagnay, Camarines Sur who was found dead with a bullet wound on his nape in a waiting shed in Barangay San Agustin, Pili town on Dec. 16.
