2 PUI for COVID-19 conf ined at BRTTH

LEGAZPI CITY --- Two new cases of Person Under Investigation (PUI) have been admitted in the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital for examination for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) bringing to three the total PUI to be tested as of Tuesday (Mar. 17), the Department of Health (DOH) in Bicol said.

Dr. Ernie Vera, DOH Bicol chief said the two PUI cases were reported to the Regional Epidemiology Surveillances Unit on Tuesday after the BRTTH found that the two patients admitted Monday were found to have symptoms of the disease, while the PUI in Camarines Sur is still waiting for the laboratory test results from the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) in Manila.

He said that despite the two new PUI cases, Bicol has no confirmed case of Covid-19 and remains free from the coronavirus for now.

Covid-19 tracker indicated that as of Monday (Mar. 16) there were 18 PUI admitted and subsequently discharged after their laboratory test results proved negative for Covid-19.

The Persons Under Monitoring (PUMs) cases have surged by 35 percent or 7,313 cases recorded on Mar. 17 from the 13,383 cases recorded on Mar. 16.
