The 4th district of Camarines Sur or the Partido area consisting of the towns of Caramoan, Garchitorena, Presentation, Lagonoy, San Jose, Goa, Tinambac, Siruma, Sangay, and Tigaon, are still free from the Coronavirus disease (Covid-19).

The zero Covid-19 case status was reported by town officials through their towns’ websites and Facebook (FB) pages.

Tigaon Mayor Jovi Fuentebella, who is in home quarantine, posted a video message on FB, the audio of which was aired on a radio station, urged his constituents to cooperate with their local government units (LGU) so that the Partido area will remain free from the virus.

For his part, San Jose Mayor Mac Chavez, who is physician, called on his town mates to observe proper hygiene to ensure as a preventive measures against Covid-19.

Meanwhile, the municipality of Goa, through personnel of its municipal police station, is intensifying lockdown procedures especially in checkpoints to minimize non-residents from entering the town.

Partido natives believed that the Partido area remains free from Covid-19 because of the immediate compliance of LGU to the policies laid down by the national government when it declared the entire Luzon under an Enhanced Community Quarantine.

Contingency measures formulated by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Covid-19 were strictly enforced within each town like community quarantine, provision of checkpoints in strategic places, enrolment and monitoring of returning residents and transients from other places known to have cases of Covid-19, suspension of public gatherings, observance of curfew, liqour ban, and social distancing.

As this develops, the different LGU are prioritizing the provision of foods to those affected by the quarantine like daily workers, members of the transport sectors, small traders, and others who were displaced by mandatory home quarantine.

All the towns have declared their respective area under states of calamity to have access to their calamity funds.

The office of Rep. Arnie B. Fuentebella is also distributing food assistance and vegetable seeds, while Gov. Migz Villafuerte , through his “ Ka Fuerte” program is distributing rice to the barangays in the entire district.
