Rapu-Rapu mayor donates pork products to residents

The mayor of Rapu-Rapu town in Albay province has once again reaped praises from residents and netizens for his generosity and leadership during the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Rapu-Rapu Mayor, Ronald “Boy” Galicia, earned the admiration of residents when he gave away two multicab full of pork meat to residents of the island town. Several days before, Galicia handed over a ton of tilapia and bangus to his constituents to help them during the quarantine period.

Albay Gov. Al Francis Bichara, in his facebook page, lauded Galicia for his generosity.“Maraming maraming salamat sa pamamahagi sa Rapu-Rapu,Mabuhay ka!,” Bichara said.

Meanwhile, in Tabaco City, kite flying despite the ECQ has been observed in the city prompting police authorities to remind residents that the same is a violation of the lockdown measures.

Police Captain Dexter Panganiban, spokesperson of the Albay Provincial Police Office said that kite-flying is a violation of the ECQ and violators could be arrested and jailed.

A resident of Pinagbobong, Tabaco City told Bicol Mail that kite flying is a way to relieve the excessive boredom caused by the ECQ.
